About Me: The Start of My Solo-ish Journey

Hi, I’m Amanda. Lover of passport stamps, spontaneous detours, and the kind of travel that feeds your soul.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of seeing the world. I’d scroll through travel blogs, pin dreamy destinations, and daydream about sipping espresso in Rome or hiking through misty mountains in Peru. But there was always one catch: I thought I needed someone to go with me.

A partner. A friend. A relative. Anyone, really.

And while the dreaming part was easy, the planning part? Not so much. When it came time to actually book the trip, the group chats went quiet. Suddenly, everyone had a reason to stay home. I kept waiting, hoping someone would finally say “yes.” But the world kept spinning, and my bucket list kept growing.

Then came a milestone birthday. I was sitting there, trying to figure out how to celebrate, and it hit me: I’m tired of waiting. Tired of putting my dreams on hold. Tired of needing permission to go.

So I booked the trip. Just me.

And that’s how Solo-ish Journeys was born.

I’m a solo traveler who doesn’t always want to be alone. I find travel groups and connect with other adventurers along the way. I’ve learned that you don’t need a travel buddy to start – you just need the courage to go. The rest unfolds beautifully.

This blog is my way of documenting the places I’ve been, the people I’ve met, and the lessons I’ve learned. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt stuck between wanderlust and waiting. It’s for people who want to go, but not necessarily go it alone.

So if you’ve been dreaming of travel but holding back, I hope this space gives you the nudge to say: Go anyway. The world won’t wait.

Let’s wander, together-ish.

Amanda
